Disappointment week 9 — scary thundersnow, new goldfishes and kitchen chaos
February 27th - March 2nd: work piles and new novel
|
Goldfish |
- After reading 1984 by George Orwell, I started on a new book called Neon Gods by Katee Roberts — and I officially regret it, xD I wish the book filled the plot with more events that slowly lead Persephone and Hades to fall in love rather than jumping right into the erotica bits almost every minute. Nevertheless, I will finish the book since I like the Greek mythology aspect of the novel. But I am excited to read To Kill a Mocking Bird next by Harper Lee.
- Work this week has maintained its momentum. Still, I find myself waking up every day with large piles of work to do, but overall it is still manageable.
- For the most part, days after work, I have been eager to work on my illustrations as well as my blog and of course, end my nights with Gilmore Girls (I am finally on Season 6! I have to say I really miss Rory in her Chilton days).
- Finally, bit the bullet and bought 1 - 2 pieces of spring-wear clothing. I am excited to wear them once spring arrives!
- Big Brother Canada starts next week, and I am still disappointed with the fact that there won't be any live feeds this season. This kills me because I became a huge fan of the show for this reason and I really enjoyed the thrill of being able to watch how people strategize within the game. Taking the feeds away will make the show another reality TV show with a distorted perception.
- Got six new goldfish as my new pet fish — my older sister named them after the Powerpuff girls.
March 3rd - 5th: thundersnow
- On March 3rd, Toronto was hit again with another grueling snowstorm; it was super chilly and windy and not to mention this was the first time I experienced a snowstorm with lighting and thunder.
- After work, I began brainstorming new ideas for my new upcoming illustration.
- Treated myself to a salted caramel mocha cupcake for my Friday treat.
- For this movie night, I settled for Mary and the Witch's Flower, which is produced by Studio Ponoc. For the most part, I loved the film. The art and animation style is very similar to Studio Ghibli, and the overall message was very clear to the audience.
- On March 4th, the storm finally left Toronto leaving us with massive piles of snow, but we are also greeted with a nice bright ray of sunshine.
- This summer, my older sister and I plan to experience a candlelight concert. We were hoping that the concert will bring back the Disney-themed one or Joe Hisaishi. That said, we both started scouting for tickets.
- On March 5th, the plumber came and worked on the leaky kitchen sink for the entire day — we finally got a new snazzy sink.
