Another short update week 8 — chilly weather, taxes, workshop disaster, and delightful cupcake
February 20th: family day
- Today is family day! My older sister and I had plans to get ice cream but unfortunately, there was no local restaurant that was open. However, my older sister and I still got some exercise by walking around our neighborhood.
February 21st - 23rd: snow and taxes
- For the last of days, my life is filled with work — day and night. Work is starting to get stressful again since a couple of my team members are out sick.
- On February 21st, I had to host a workshop for my team and it was a disaster. I was demonstrating my Microsoft Excel project, and the program kept freezing which led to awkward silences. That said, I was still able to present and mentor my teammates with my new project.
- Toronto is back in its wintery state. We are constantly getting snow storms and the weather has turned from spring-like weather to a freezing one. Not to mention, the sudden change in weather led to more hot tea and cozy blankets since the house got colder.
- Finally received my tax documents and filed my taxes, which is one thing to take off my mind. :)
February 24th - 26th: cupcakes and movie night!
- On Feb 24th my older sister brought home homemade strawberry-filled cupcakes; they look and tasted scrumptious, however, the icing was a tad bit too sweet for my liking. But overall, it is amazing, and I hope she does well in selling her cupcakes — I am super excited for her!
- Today it was movie night day! Work had been slowly piling up again since a tax season deadline is soon approaching and this is a great way to wind down after a long work week. After work, I went over to my local grocery store and picked up some BBQ lays to indulge in for movie night.
- For movie night, I recently did research on one of my favorite animators — Don Bluth — and I realized I never watched one of his top-selling animated films called The Secret of NIHM; hence, I decided to watch this.
- On Feb 25th, Toronto has filled with snow again and it was super chilly. I am beginning to think winter will never leave.
- I went to Costco to pick up some groceries — black grapes, lettuce, vitamins, a pack of tissue rolls, and many more. I was disappointed that there were no free samples this time.
- For the rest of the day, I got cozy and finished reading 1984 by George Orwell (review coming soon). I also went ahead and got started on planning and preparing my blog posts for my art blog. And of course, I have to end off the day by watching Gilmore Girls (halfway through season 5, yay!)
