Banh Pia Hopia Cake — Falling in love with durian
Banh Pia Hopia Cake is a type of Fillipino pastry filled with bean paste filling.

Last week, when my aunt and uncle visited my family during the Lunar new year, they gifted us the mung bean durian-flavored Banh Pia Hopia Cake from Costco; they are also available on Amazon.
One pack comes with 12 individually packaged hopia cakes and the ingredients included in the cake are sugar, mung beans, wheat flour, palm oil, durian, dry squash, water, malt, and palm fat.
When I open the yellow packaging, you can find the small snack-size hopia cake in a small plastic container.
As I took a bite of the cake, I was greeted with large fillings of durian. At times, I felt like I was eating an actual durian because, in the filling, you can taste moderate chunks of durian. Also, the filling was very generous because the outside layer of the pastry was very thin and flaky, not to mention, it was slightly oily as well.
Overall, this was my first time trying a hopia cake and I definitely recommend this flavor! I also recommend this to people who do not like the smell of durian because the scent is not overpowering and it wasn't too sweet.
However, for the price, I do not think it is worth it because when I first saw this at Costco it was around $20 per package which is too pricey in my opinion; hence, I would definitely get this if it is on sale.
